  • New Works

Two new works of mine have been published recently.

The Lights at Full House Literary Magazine’s new ‘Games Room.‘ It is very lively over there and a lot of fun to check out.

Wolf Dog at Defunct Magazine Issue 11. My first creative non-fiction work to be published anywhere. And yes, that means this is a true story.

  • After assessments, rents will go up. Here’s what renters like me need.

The other day, my landlady knocked on my door.

“I’m going to need to talk to you about the rent,” she said.

She explained that she had just received her new property assessments, and her real estate taxes are going to go up by 225%. She said she had no choice but to raise the rent. “I don’t want you to move, but I’m not sure what else I can do,” she told me.

  • Abortion debate is a reminder that those with disabilities are worthy of life

Imagine being pregnant and a doctor telling you that the child you carry has a disability. Imagine that they tell you this disability is a strong reason to obtain an abortion, even later in pregnancy. Imagine that disability is something like clubfoot. Imagine being the mother and choosing an abortion.

Now, imagine you are a person who lives a completely functional, active, and productive life with clubfeet and hearing all of this.
